For the first time in the hystory of United Kingdom, a mass of 2 millions of people on the 15th of February 2003 took the streets of London to ask the British government to not invade Iraq, to not support Bush strategy, to not start a war based on an unproven truth that the Iraq of Saddam Hussein owned weapons of mass destruction.

Stop The War, CND, Socialist Workers and many other organizations supported the march.

Not in My Name.

For the first time in the hystory of United Kingdom, a mass of 2 millions of people on the 15th of February 2003 took the streets of London to ask the British government to not invade Iraq, to not support Bush strategy, to not start a war based on an unproven truth that the Iraq of Saddam Hussein owned weapons of mass destruction.

Stop The War, CND, Socialist Workers and many other organizations supported the march.

Tony Blair government did look but did not listen. It answered that the demonstrators were disillusioned.
The government echoed USA refrain that the world was under a terrorist threat. They claimed there were evidences of imminent danger.
The UN did not back the USA attack. UK and several more EU country did.

In the following months more marches followed to ask for a stop of the invasion. In vain.

Several years and hundred of thousands of innocent deaths later, history tells where is the truth. The proofs were faked, the weapons of mass destruction never existed. The threat of terrorism on the rise. Iraq in a much more difficult situation to Saddam's era.

This is a photo story of that first demonstration and of the several that followed during the first year of the attack.
