Is there a way to portray Venice, during the Carnival, including the historic appeal of its colourful masks without denying it is happening in a new millennium?

This was the challenge.
The first time I dropped traditional black and white film to opt for a contemporary medium, digital photography, I wanted to challenge another secular tradition: Venice Carnival.
